For non-turbo models we still offer a rebuilt standard box that uses a combination of new and serviceable parts for $1550 plus GST. We do not recommend this box for Turbo models.

We completed an in house study back in 2005 that led to a change in our approach to servicing the performance Subaru community. We compiled data over five years showing that when one of these gearboxes breaks under hard driving, provided the owner continues to drive in the same manner, the rebuilt box will also soon fail. All Drives Subaru Hybrid transmission
The All Drive Subaroo Hybrid transmission consists of brand new genuine OEM Subaru gears from selected Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) and AUS spec transmissions. A special treatment process is used for selected gears to increase strength and service life. We have been selling and installing these hybrid boxes in turbo models for almost 3 ½ years. Results have shown that these transmissions are 70 percent less likely to break than the standard transmission except in cases of severe driver abuse.
Reconditioned Transmission
All Drive Subaroo’s reconditioned transmission. This transmission is not as strong as our Hybrid transmission however it is cheaper. It contains some new parts and some serviceable parts to reduce the purchase cost. These transmissions are ideal for respective drivers.

Yes we do overhaul the 6 speed manual transmissions and have been doing them since 2001. A rather high financial investment in Subaru factory service tooling guarantee’s you “our customer” that your transmission is repaired correctly and accurately the first time.
As there are so many components within the 6 speed transmission most Subaru Dealers do not keep these parts in stock, with part order times of up to 6 weeks, this can cause major inconvenience.
