Warranty Information

We offer the best warranty terms in the business. We can do this because of the solid ethical principles we operate under, because we use only the highest quality OEM Subaru or aftermarket components, and because our workmanship is underpinned by many years of experience.Please refer to your quote/invoice to confirm the warranty period on your product.

General/Gearbox Terms and Conditions.

  1. General workmanship warranty on gearbox and automatic transmission assemblies for standard applications
    1. Repairs : All repairs made to Subaru gearboxes or transmissions by All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd (ADS), providing that the parts and labour are both supplied by ADS, are covered by a 6 months or 15,000km (whichever occurs first) parts and labour warranty.
    2. Level 1: All Subaru rebuilt gearboxes and automatic transmissions (Level 1) supplied and installed by ADS are covered by a 12 months or 25,000km (whichever occurs first) parts and labour warranty.
    3. Level 2: All Subaru reconditioned or remanufactured (level 2) gearboxes and automatic transmissions supplied and installed by ADS are covered by a 18 month or 25,000km (whichever occurs first) parts and labour warranty.
    4. Level 3: All Subaru reconditioned or remanufactured (level 3) gearboxes and automatic transmissions supplied and installed by ADS are covered by a 24 month or 50,000km (whichever occurs first) parts and labour warranty.
    5. Performance: ADS also builds and installs a range of performance modified gearboxes and transmissions for motorsport applications. See Section 5.0.
  2. Exclusions
    1. Broken gears: the warranty does not cover broken gears or differentials under any circumstances, except when due to manufacturing defect, in which case ADS reserves the right to replace or repair the transmission.
    2. Driver abuse: Gearbox or automatic transmission failure due to driver abuse is not covered under warranty.
    3. Improper maintenance: Warranty is void if the gearbox or automatic transmission is not serviced as specified by All Drive Subaroo in section 7.0 of this document.
    4. Modified vehicles: No rebuilt reconditioned or remanufactured manual gearbox or automatic transmission using Subaru standard specification parts will be warranted if fitted to a vehicle that has performance or other modifications (unless approved by ADS) including, but not limited to, the following areas:
      1. Fuel system including fuel pump, fuel regulator, fuel rails, fuel injectors
      2. Gearbox and engine management systems, including re-flashing [unless carried out by Subaru Gearboxes Australia (All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd)]
      3. Intake air pipes, air boxes, relocated air mass meter.
      4. Turbo charger modifications including boost control devices.
      5. Oil systems that are modified, including oil pans, oil pump, oil filters, or oil coolers that are non-Subaru manufactured.
  3. Parts warranty
    1. Used: All second-hand parts are covered by a three month replacement parts warranty only.
    2. OEM New: All new genuine Subaru parts are covered by a 12 month or 25,000km (whichever occurs first) replacement parts warranty only.
    3. OEM New: All new genuine Subaru parts are covered by a 12 month or 25,000km (whichever occurs first) replacement parts warranty only.
  4. Motorsport applications/modified vehicles
    1. Vehicle with performance modifications may be used in a range of Motorsport applications that subject all vehicle components to a range of stresses beyond the manufacturer�s engineering tolerances. ADS cannot warrant a gearbox or automatic transmission built to standard specifications used in these conditions. There are a range of motorsports, including, but not limited to:
      1. Rally racing
      2. Club circuit racing
      3. Hill climbs
      4. Slalom events
      5. Drag racing
      6. Autocross
      7. Autotest
      8. Cross-country
      9. Endurance road rally
      10. Rallycross
      11. Sprint
      12. Time attack/trials
  5. Motorsport manual gearboxesAll Drive Subaroo manufactures a range of strengthened manual gearboxes especially for motorsport applications and these come with a separate limited warranty depending on application and build level, excluding broken gears and under the same general terms and conditions as our standard range of gearboxes, except for engine modifications, which are permissible within the horsepower range specified for the gearbox. Our motorsport gearboxes include:
    The strengthened hybrid 5-speed WRX box
    Six-speed STI hybrid conversion gearbox
    Our range of PPG billet steel gearboxes, from helical synchro cut to dog engagement
    Other strengthened limited production and custom gearbox and transmission builds

    All Motorsport gearboxes are supplied with a negotiable parts and labour warranty when installed by ADS. Third party installations and/or repairs, if approved, are covered under the same terms as 6.0 below.

  6. Third party installation warranty repair
    1. Third party installation parts only warranty: All gearboxes or automatic transmissions that are installed by a third party are warranted for parts only.
    2. ADS installation, third party repairs: Labour reimbursements for authorised in-vehicle repairs conducted by third party repairers will be determined according to a flat rate manual and only provided if the gearbox, automatic transmission or failed component was installed by All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd.
      1. Labour rates and freight for third party repairs of ADS installed gearboxes or automatic transmissions: labour rates are based on the automotive industry average for each state, and will be paid only if parts are deemed to be faulty after an inspection is carried out by All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd. Freight costs in all cases will be borne by the customer, unless the part is found to be defective immediately after installation and is returned within 7 days of purchase. In this case ADS reserves the right to arrange freight through its own provider.
    3. All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd is not responsible for incidental expenses such as travel, hotels, meals, towing, car rental etc.
    4. All assemblies are shipped dry. Please refer to the owner’s manual for specifications related to lubrication. Warranty is void if incorrect lubricant is used.
    5. All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd will send a replacement part, or gearbox or automatic transmission or repair the defective one, at our discretion.
  7. Post sale maintenance of your ADS gearbox or automatic transmission and warranty repair conditions
    1. Warranty on rebuilt, reconditioned or remanufactured units will be void if the gearbox or automatic transmission has failed due to insufficient lubrication or overheating. It is the customer’s responsibility to maintain oil and coolant levels. Any suspected leaks must be repaired before damage occurs.
    2. All re-manufactured gearboxes or automatic transmissions must be serviced in accordance with All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd terms and Subaru scheduled maintenance.
    3. When fitting automatic transmission the following procedures must be followed:
      1. Service the radiator assembly to ensure that the oil transmission cooler is free from all contamination (if the vehicle has a remote transmission cooler, it is also necessary to service or replace the cooler prior to starting the vehicle)
      2. Flush transmission oil lines and piping.
      3. Inspect or renew all rubber hosing to ensure serviceability.
      4. Perform Automatic transmission data relearn for adaptive control system using specialized Subaru equipment.
      5. Renew external Automatic transmission filter (if applicable)
      6. Some Subaru transmissions require specific transmission fluid, please refer to the manufacturer specifications for the correct oil.
    4. Gearbox service should be conducted according to logbook service intervals, and varies widely between models. It is the customer’s responsibility to be aware of the correct service schedule

    6. If the vehicle is serviced by a provider other than All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd, documentation supporting vehicle servicing intervals must be provided if a warranty claim is made.
    7. Servicing receipts must contain the following information; customer name, registration details, date of service, and odometer reading.
    8. Failure to provide the requested documents will void any warranty claim.

Engine Warranty Terms & Conditions

All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd Rebuilt engine and new or used parts warranty terms and conditions.

  1. Warranty Information:
    1. Repairs : All repairs made to Subaru engines by All Drive Subaroo Pty Ltd (ADS), providing that parts and labour are both supplied by ADS, are covered by a 6 months or 15,000km (whichever occurs first) parts and labour warranty.
    2. Level 1: All Subaru rebuilt engines (Level 1) supplied and installed by ADS are covered by 12 months or 25,000km (whichever occurs first) parts and labour warranty. Level 1 engines are explicitly assembled to manufacturer’s performance specifications; any modifications (tuning alterations, aftermarket platforms, aftermarket intakes, exhaust systems etc.) which may alter power output or driveability, will void the warranty in its entirety.
    3. Level 2: All Subaru reconditioned (level 2) engines supplied and installed by ADS are covered by our parts and labour warranty for 18 months (uncapped kilometres). Level 2 engines are explicitly assembled to manufacturer’s performance specifications; any modifications (tuning alterations, aftermarket platforms, aftermarket intakes, exhaust systems etc.) which may alter power output or driveability, will void the warranty in its entirety.
    4. Level 3: All Subaru remanufactured (level 3) engines supplied and installed by ADS are covered by a 24 month and unlimited mileage parts and labour warranty.
      Level 3 engines are explicitly assembled to manufacturer’s performance specifications; any modifications (tuning alterations, aftermarket platforms, aftermarket intakes, exhaust systems etc.) which may alter power output or driveability, will void the warranty in its entirety.
    5. Performance Engines: Engines reconditioned/remanufactured by All Drive Subaroo that contain non-OEM parts such as forged pistons, modified engine oil pans, oil pumps etc. with clearances set according to non – OEM instructions that are outside Subaru manufacturers specifications are categorized as Motorsport engines. Motorsport engines carry 6 months or 25,000km warranty (whichever occurs first) when installed by an approved 3rd party. All Motorsport engines that are installed and tuned by ADS are covered by a 12 month/25,000km (whichever occurs first) parts and labour warranty.
    6. Warranty period commences on day of delivery, or day of handover if the engine is installed by us or one of our certified installers.
    7. ADS Warranty does not cover consequential failure; any parts such as engine accessories unrelated to the engine build that are damaged or rendered unusable in the unlikely event of an engine failure are not covered.
    8. ADS Warranty terms exclude any engine removal or shipping costs incurred to return the product to our facility.
    9. ADS Warranty is only offered if the engine is professionally installed, with receipts provided.
    10. Standard Warranty is non-transferrable and only offered to the original purchaser of the engine.
    11. Any and all parts supplied and installed by ADS in the engine assembly are covered under our warranty terms or the component manufacturer’s warranty terms. No warranty is offered for any components supplied by the client.
    12. The client agrees that costs associated with engine removal/disassembly at the ADS workshop will be their responsibility if the failure is not covered within our terms.
    13. If the vehicle is serviced outside of ADS, documentation supporting vehicle servicing intervals must be provided if a warranty claim is made. All Servicing receipts must contain the following information: customer’s name, registration details, service date, and distance travelled. Failing to provide the requested documents will void this warranty.
    14. Any warranty repairs or replacements will not extend the original warranty period unless specified by ADS management.
    15. We take pride in the rebuilt/remanufactured units that we sell and take every precaution to ensure trouble free operation. In the unlikely event of an issue, ADS may choose to send a replacement part, engine or repair the defective component.
    16. Labour reimbursements for ADS-approved warranty repairs will be determined according to a flat rate manual and only provided if the engine or failed component was installed by All Drive Subaroo. Labour rates are based on the automotive industry average for each state.
    17. Regarding our Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 engine options; these products are all explicitly assembled to manufacturer’s performance specifications; any modifications (tuning alterations, aftermarket platforms, aftermarket intakes, exhaust systems etc.) which may alter power output or driveability, will void the warranty in its entirety.
  2. ADS Engine Warranty does NOT cover:
    1. Engine damage/failure due to improper engine installation, negligence, abuse, modification or accident.
    2. Inadequate run-in procedure.
    3. ANY engine damage/failure caused by aggressive tuning or performance modifications exceeding ADS specified engine parameters, (except in the case of ADS performance engines, or by prior agreement).
    4. Engine damage/failure resulting from inadequate maintenance. Please refer to the invoice for the approved service schedule.
    5. Engine damage/failure caused by inadequate supporting systems such as fuel delivery, wiring, and cooling systems.
    6. Damage/failure occurring from re-use of contaminated, worn, or damaged engine parts such as AVCS cam pulleys, oil pump, oil cooler etc. ADS advises that engine oil related components are assessed and replaced as required in all ADS supplied and installed engines.
    7. Any engine damage/failure without evidence of professional installation and tuning.
    8. Engine damage/failure due to abuse, including over revving, overheating, incorrect fuel mixtures or oil starvation.
    9. Engine damage/failure caused by foreign objects or substances in the engine.
    10. Vehicle towing, shipping, rental car, loss of time, inconvenience, loss of use or other economic loss unless otherwise approved by management.

In the case of any unforeseen warranty claims not explicitly covered in our terms and conditions, ADS reserves the right to review the claim case by case with ADS or an ADS approved third party assessor.

If you find the warranty terms and condition unacceptable, please return the component in its original, unused state for a complete refund within 7 days from the invoice date.
